International FM Standards

A ‘Standard’ is a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose and which are aligned with Best Practice.

FM Standards and ISO 41001

The FM sector has benefitted significantly from several key ISO FM Standards which are set to revolutionise facilities management services over the next phase of its evolution. These include: ISO 41001 The Facilities Management Standard; ISO 44001 Business Relationships Management Standard; ISO 8572 Procurement of FM Related Services to name but a few. At Evolve Business Excellence, our consultants have been instrumental in developing the latest FM Standards with British Standards Institution (BSi) and we are therefore able to quickly identify how these FM Standards will be of benefit within your organisation.

Affordable Best Practice

Some may argue that while Standards will undoubtedly introduce clear benefits, their implementation may also drive up cost. At Evolve Business Excellence, our approach is to adopt and promote the relevant FM Standards that relate either directly or indirectly to Facilities Management and Business Excellence in an affordable manner that will deliver Best Practice but without increasing costs or compromising on quality. We develop frameworks on behalf of our clients which enables organisations to benefit from the outcomes of such FM Standards but without the learning curve and associated costs.

There are three bodies that create Standards. These are:
  • ISO – International
  • EN – Regional (European)
  • BSi – National (UK)
