Overview

Evbex was appointed by the Welsh Government (WG) as FM Consultants to develop a new long-term FM strategy for WG’s estate in Wales.

The WG estate comprises circa 35 buildings and 99,000m2 of floor space throughout Wales.

Evbex was appointed in 2017 to undertake an initial strategic review of the estate, benchmark both performance and the current FM service costs against industry norms and to develop a long-term strategy for all FM services.

Evbex’s initial objective was to gain an understanding of the current and future estate, the current FM management and operational structures and to identify areas for improvement. This led to a comprehensive review of current areas of best practice within the FM marketplace, including a detailed assessment of FM models, their suitability for the WG and cost benefit analysis. An agile solution was required for FM, Estates and Capital Project Services to suit the changing needs of the property portfolio.

Evbex led a major FM tender and procurement exercise on behalf of WG to deliver a tailored FM outsourced solution that encompassed the latest FM best practices and innovation.

A best value solution was sought which will enable the WG to focus on delivering its own Location Strategy for 2025.

Previous services delivered to the WG included QVi audits, workshops and general FM consultancy advice. Evbex also continues to provide WG with ad hoc FM consultancy support whenever required.
